Welcome to the mine countermeasure ship USS Dextrous (MCM 13) official website

Welcome Aboard!

Congratulations on your orders to USS DEXTROUS (MCM-13)!  On behalf of your future Commanding Officer and Command Senior Chief, I would like to take the opportunity to welcome you to our team.
DEXTROUS’ mission is to operate offensively in a mine-threat environment, independently or as an integral member of a surface action group.  Designed as a wooden hull with tailored mission packages, the minesweeper provides focused capabilities in the Mine Warfare (MIW) and Surface Warfare (SUW) mission areas.  I think you will find the training, sustainment, and operations employment of our ship both professionally challenging and rewarding during your tour.
The Kingdom of Bahrain is a safe and comfortable duty station that offers many opportunities for new and unique cultural experiences.  There are many excellent restaurants, malls, grocery stores, and other familiar amenities that you would find at home.  Many restaurants even offer U.S. military discounts!  The people and Government of Bahrain are friendly and welcoming to U.S. service members and their families.  Many find living here to be a culturally rewarding experience.
I look forward to you joining our team.  Our staff is among the Navy’s best and our personnel are dedicated to mission accomplishment.  |  |  Navy FOIA  |  DoD Accessibility/Section 508  |  No Fear Act   |  Open Government  |  Plain Writing Act  |  Veterans Crisis Line  |  VA Vet Center  |  FVAP  |  DoD Safe Helpline  |  Navy SAPR  |  NCIS Tips  |  Privacy Policy  |  Site Map  |  Contact Us   |  988 Helpline
