CMDCM(SW/EXW) Rodolfo Lopez Jr.
Master Chief Rodolfo Lopez Jr. enlisted in the United States Navy from Texas in 1997. Upon graduation from Recruit Training in Great Lakes, Illinois, he went to Gunner’s Mate “A” School in Great Lakes followed by “C” School in San Diego.
At sea, Lopez has served aboard USS O’Brien (DD 975) in Yokosuka, Japan, completing two tours to the Arabian Gulf; aboard USS Higgins (DDG 76) as leading petty officer (LPO) for Combat Gunnery (CG) division and as a Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (VBSS) team member; Riverine Squadron ONE, where he was promoted to chief petty officer; aboard USS Preble (DDG 88) where he served as the CG division leading chief petty officer (LCPO) and later as the weapons department LCPO, completing one deployment to the Arabian Gulf; aboard USS Hopper (DDG 70) as the weapons department LCPO and command fitness leader, where he completed one training cycle and a deployment to 5th and 7th Fleet; aboard USS Coronado (LCS 4) as Command Master Chief where he completed INSURV and out of area DSRA in Portland, Oregon.
Ashore, Lopez has served onboard Navy and Marine Corps Reserve Center in Greensboro, North Carolina as the training department LPO, and onboard Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet in San Diego in the Anti-Terrorism, Force Protection/VBSS Office. He completed the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course in 2017, and reported to U.S. Naval Support Facilities Deveselu, Romania as command senior chief.
He currently serves as the Command Master Chief for USS Ross (DDG 71).
Lopez has earned the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (6 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (7 awards), Good Conduct Medal, Combat Action Ribbon and various campaign and unit awards.
