Commander John Mastriani
Commander John Mastriani, a native of New Jersey, entered service as a Nuclear Field Electronics Technician before attending the US Naval Academy, graduating in 2003 with a B. S. in Physics. Operational assignments include Anti-Submarine Warfare Office in USS VANDEGRIFT (FFG 48), Assistant Operations Officer at Amphibious Squadron ONE aboard USS TARAWA (LHA 1), Weapons and Combat Systems Officer in USS SHILOH (CG 67), Europe Missile Defense Plans / Exercise Lead at Naval Forces Europe / SIXTH Fleet, and Task Force SIX FOUR. Shore assignments include Naval Activities Spain and Missile Defense Agency (Warfighter Support & Integration and C2BMC Program Office) in Colorado Springs.
Commander Mastriani’s personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), Humanitarian Service Award and various campaign and unit awards.
