CMDCM(SW/AW/IW) James Kuroski

 

Master Chief Kuroski is a native of Connecticut and enlisted in the Navy in April, 1995. 
 

After initial training he reported to his first Command, USS ENTERPRISE CVN 65 home ported in Norfolk, VA. During this tour he completed three Mediterranean Sea/Arabian Gulf deployments, earned his ESWS and EAWS pins, and was advanced to Second Class Petty Officer.
 
In 2001, he reported to USS CONSTITUTION home ported in Boston, MA. He qualified as Tour Guide and was appointed Command Chief Master at Arms. He advanced to First Class Petty Officer and was appointed Deck Department Leading Petty Officer and then Deck Department Head.
 
He reported to USS AUSTIN LPD 4 in 2004 and served as Navigation Department Leading Petty Officer. During this tour he completed a six-month deployment to the FIFTH and SIXTH Fleet, as well as a humanitarian aid operation in support of Haiti after a devastating earthquake. 
 
In 2006 he advanced to Chief Petty Officer and reported to USS KAUFFMAN as Navigation Department Leading Chief Petty Officer. He qualified Officer of the Deck, underway, and completed a Mediterranean Sea/West Africa deployment and a South American UNITAS. 
 
In 2009, he reported to Recruit Division Commander “C” School in Great Lakes, IL and upon graduation he was advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer. He reported to the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, MD where he served as 13th Company Senior Enlisted Leader and taught Basic Seamanship and Navigation in Luce Hall.
 
In 2012, he reported to the USS RONALD REAGAN CVN 76 as Navigation Department Leading Chief Petty Officer, homeported in Bremerton, WA. He executed a Home Port Shift to San Diego, CA, where REAGAN participated in RIMPAC 2014. In 2015-2016, he completed the first ever Three-Carrier-Hull-Swap between REAGAN, USS GEORGE WASHINGTON CVN 73 AND USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT CVN 71. 
 
In 2017, he was selected to the Command Senior Chief program. In March 2017, he reported for duty as the Command Senior Chief for PCU CINNCINNATI, (Blue), Littoral Combat Ship (LCS 20) CREW 205, San Diego, CA. where he executed the Christening and Mast Stepping of PCU CINCINNATI LCS 20, in Mobile, AL. In August of 2017 he was promoted to Command Master Chief.
 
Master Chief Kuroski is a graduate of Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 167 (KHAKI), and CMC/COB Course # A-570-4500.    
 
His personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal, (five awards), Navy Achievement Medal, (three awards), 2008 George Sirian Meritorious Leadership Award, and numerous unit citations.
