Commander Isaac A. Harris
Commander Isaac A. Harris, a native Florida, has a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Criminology from the University of Florida and a Master’s of Public Policy, emphasizing National Security and Terrorism, from George Mason University’s School of Public Policy. He was commissioned in the U.S. Navy in November, 2002 via Officer Candidate School in Pensacola Florida.
His sea tours include USS OGDEN (LPD-5) in San Diego, California, USS UNDERWOOD (FFG-36) in Mayport, USS COLE (DDG-67) in Norfolk, Virginia, Destroyer Squadron Two Six, also in Norfolk. He was the Executive Officer on USS RAMAGE (DDG-61) in Norfolk before taking Command in April 2020.
CDR Harris’ shore tours include the Aide de Camp to Vice Admiral John G. Morgan, Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Information, Plans, and Strategy. Strategic Analyst in OPNAV N51, Strategy working Middle East and Asia policy, Afghanistan/Pakistan Strategy, Air Sea Battle, and War Gaming. Defense Legislative Fellow, assigned to the office of Congressman Joe Courtney (CT-02). Executive Assistant to the Department of the Navy Chief of Legislative Affairs, RADM Craig Faller. CDR Harris’ holds a 2000Q subspecialty code for a master's degree with experience in Middle Eastern national security affairs. His military decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal.
