Commander Jason W. DeBlock
Cmdr. Jason DeBlock graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in systems engineering. He holds an MBA from the University of Rochester.
DeBlock’s sea assignments include serving aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS FITZGERALD (DDG 62), reactor mechanical division officer aboard the aircraft carrier USS ENTERPRISE (CVN 65), operations officer aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS BULKELEY (DDG 84), reactor training assistant aboard ENTERPRISE, and executive officer aboard the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS PRINCETON (CG 59). During these tours, he deployed to the European, Pacific, African, and Central Command areas of responsibility.
Ashore, DeBlock completed nuclear power training, served as a Defense Legislative Fellow on the staff of Congressman Maurice Hinchey in the 112th Congress, served as the Surface Nuclear Program Manager in the office of the Chief of Naval Operations for Manpower, Personnel, Training and Education (N1), and served as a politico-military affairs planner and executive assistant in the Strategic Plans and Policy Directorate, Joint Staff, J5. He is a Joint Qualified Officer.
DeBlock assumed the duties as commanding officer aboard USS TRUXTUN (DDG 103) on 26 November 2019.
His personal decorations and awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various unit commendations, campaign medals, and service ribbons.
