CMDCM(SW/AW/PJ) Patrick J. Roseland
Master Chief Roseland, a native Montana, enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in June 1993. Following completion of basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego he completed tours of duty at 3rd Intelligence Company in Okinawa, Japan and 2nd Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company (ANGLICO) in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He was honorably discharged from the USMC in January 1998, and enlisted in the United States Navy in March of 2000. He reported to Naval Training Center Great Lakes, where he completed Fire Control man apprenticeship training.
Upon graduation, he reported for duty onboard USS WINSTON S. CHURCHILL (DDG 81) as a MK-160 Gun Weapons System Technician. His additional fleet assignments include the USS CHANCELLORSVILLE (CG 62) and USS HOWARD (DDG 83) as an AEGIS Weapon System Supervisor and Combats System Maintenance Manager. In addition, he completed shore assignments as a Naval Gunfire instructor at Expeditionary Warfare Training Group Pacific in San Diego, California, and as the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Inspector General at United States Fleet Forces Command in Norfolk, Virginia.
Master Chief Roseland was selected for the Command Senior Enlisted Leader program in 2016 and was assigned as the Command Master Chief with the world famous “Rawhides” of Fleet Logistics Support Squadron FOUR ZERO (VRC 40). He is currently serving as the CMC onboard the mighty warship USS MAHAN (DDG 72) homeported in Norfolk, Va.
He holds an Associate’s Degree in Applied Electronics from Thomas Edison State College, and is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 205. He has earned his Enlisted Aviation Warfare and Enlisted Surface Warfare, Naval Parachutist, and Master Training Specialist designations.
His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (10 awards) and various unit and campaign awards.
