Commander Charles C. Spivey
CDR Spivey is a North Carolina native and enlisted in the Navy in 1998. He completed Naval Nuclear Power ET “A” school before receiving an appointment to the Naval Academy. He was commissioned from the Naval Academy in 2003 and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
CDR Spivey served his first Division Officer tour aboard USS LABOON (DDG 58) and USS GONZALEZ (DDG 66) as the Ordnance Officer during an East Coast Sea Swap from 2003-2005. His second Division Officer tour was aboard USS SAN ANTONIO (LPD 17) as the Assistant First Lieutenant, Force Protection Officer, and Fire Control Officer from 2005-2007. Following his division officer tours, he served as a staff officer at Naval Force Central Command and received his Master’s Degree in Information Warfare from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA.
CDR Spivey completed two deployments to the Mediterranean as the Weapons Officer and Combat Systems Officer aboard USS RAMAGE (DDG 61) from 2011-2014. Following his department head tours, he was the Anti-Air Warfare Weapons requirements officer at OPNAV N96 and completed a tour as an Integrated Air and Missile Defense Warfare Tactics Instructor at Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center detachment Dahlgren.
CDR Spivey’s awards include the Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and various unit and service awards.
