General Dynamics announced that the USN has awarded funding for the planning and construction of USS Harvey C. Barnum Jr. (DDG 124) for the 2016 Fiscal Year.
The keel of the warship was laid April 6, 2021, and she was christened on July 29, 2023. Harvey C. Barnum Jr. conducted its float off on Oct. 4, 2023.
On March 11, 2026, Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet announced that the Harvey C. Barnum Jr. will commission on April 11, 2026, in Norfolk, Virginia. For more information about the announcement, read here: https://dvidshub.net/r/vviudg.
