Captain David T. Snee

A native of Tennessee and son of a Force Master Chief. CAPT Snee is a 1995 graduate of The University of Memphis where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a commission through the NROTC program.  He has a Master’s degree in Information Systems and Operations from the Naval Postgraduate School and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of North Carolina.  In 2017, he was a Secretary of Defense Executive Fellow at Shell Oil Company. 

At sea, CAPT Snee completed his division officer tours on USS Robert G. Bradley (FFG 49) and USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67); his department head tour on USS O’Kane (DDG 77); and a Flag Aide assignment with the Commander, US SEVENTH Fleet.  CAPT Snee commanded the USS Hopper (DDG 70) after serving as her Executive Officer.  While in command, CAPT Snee led HOPPER on an 8-month deployment to 5th and 7th Fleet where he served as the Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) commander earning the Battle “E” Award and the Secretary of the Navy Energy Conservation Award. 
Ashore, CAPT Snee served as a NROTC Instructor at Virginia Tech; the Deputy EA to the Deputy CNO for Operations and Plans (OPNAV N3N5); the Japan and China Country Director on The Joint Staff (J5); the Branch Head for Integration and Interoperability in OPNAV N9I; the Deputy for Task Force Netted Navy; and most recently, the Director of Readiness Integration at US Fleet Forces Command.
