Shipmate - Welcome Aboard!
On behalf of the outstanding NEW YORK crew, I want to congratulate you on your orders to one of our Navy’s best warships.  Every one of us onboard looks forward to you joining our warfighting team.  You should know that you are joining a proud and dedicated group that takes immense pride in our ship, our namesake and our mission.  Every day, we remember the lives lost and those impacted by the events of September 11th and we are inspired by the sacrifices of the first responders who so bravely ran into the storm that day, putting the lives of others over their own.  You will find your tour on NEW YORK to be both challenging and rewarding.  What you will do daily as an important part of the NEW YORK crew matters to our Navy and Marine Corps, the United States of America, and the world.  Our command philosophy is Train – Fight – WIN and we expect you will arrive ready to do your job to the best of your ability to help ensure NEW YORK is ready to answer the call.  NEVER FORGET!
