Lieutenant Commander William H. Burke
Executive Officer
Lieutenant Commander William H. Burke graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science.
Lieutenant Commander Burke completed his Division Officer tours in USS DONALD COOK (DDG 75) as a fleet up from June of 2008 to April 2012. While onboard he served as Strike Officer, Fire Control Officer, and VBSS Team Lead and completed two deployments to the C5F AOR.
In May of 2013, Lieutenant Commander Burke completed a MPS in Leadership, Education, and Development from the University of Maryland. He completed JPME Phase I from the Naval War College in 2014.
Lieutenant Commander Burke served at the United States Naval Academy from May 2013 to June 2015 as 25th Company Officer and as Executive Assistant to the Commandant of Midshipmen.
Lieutenant Commander Burke completed his department head tours in USS DEWEY (DDG 105) as a fleet up serving as the Operations Officer and as Combat Systems Officer. While onboard, he completed two WESTPAC deployments and was named the Pacific Fleet SWO of the Year runner-up in 2017 by CNSP.
Lieutenant Commander Burke assumed his role as Executive Officer USS DEVASTATOR (MCM 6) in August, 2019.
His awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), the USNA Class of ’75 Leadership Award, and various other unit awards and campaign medals.
