Lieutenant Commander Brent Holloway
Commanding Officer
LCDR Brent Holloway is a native Massachusetts. He graduated from Massachusetts Maritime Academy in 2006 earning a B.S. in Marine Transportation as well as his USCG Third Mate, Open Ocean, Unlimited Tonnage license.
LCDR Holloway’s Division Officer tours included USS PAUL HAMILTON (DDG 60) in Pearl Harbor as First Lieutenant followed by USS ASHLAND (LSD 48) in Little Creek as Auxiliaries Officer. As a Department Head, LCDR Holloway served as the Chief Engineer in both USS THE SULLIVANS (DDG 68) and USS NEW YORK (LPD 21) in Mayport, FL. Selected for Early Command, he most recently served as Executive Officer of USS DEVASTATOR (MCM 6), forward deployed in Manama, Bahrain
Ashore, he served as the Advanced Shiphandling and Tactics (ASAT) course Lead at Surface Warfare Officers School in Newport RI Fleet Training Department (N72) where he also helped develop the Basic Division Officer Course (BDOC) and instructed the Conning Officer Virtual Environment (COVE) trainer. While ashore he completed two Masters Degrees in National Strategic Studies, and Maritime Homeland Security and Homeland Defense at the US Naval War College and completed JPME Phase 1.
LCDR Holloway’s awards include Navy Commendation Medal (3 awards), Navy Achievement Medal (4 awards) and various unit awards.
