FIGHT THE SHIP
Be ready to conduct multiple routine operations simultaneously or in rapid succession.
Train to conduct the full range of high end operations, up to and including combat.
SAVE THE SHIP
Quickly and effectively respond to any equipment or Damage Control casualty.
Ensure Anti-Terrorism procedures are followed such that ST. LOUIS is always a hard target.
Quickly respond to any personnel casualty to save our shipmates.
SUPPORTING PRINCIPLES
Respect and Empower our Sailors.
Ensure that every one of our shipmates is treated with the respect and dignity they deserve.
Delegate authority as much as possible while providing the proper training, resources, and boundaries to ensure safety and mission success.
Train at every opportunity.
Learn your rate and watch stations.
Actively seek out greater knowledge and experience.
Flex your watch teams, duty sections, and repair parties so they can quickly respond to the unexpected.
Actively manage risk.
Ensure in-depth and deliberate planning and risk analysis for upcoming events and evolutions.
Continue time critical analysis for evolutions already in progress – Always consider what previous assumption has changed since the planning or briefing stage.
Every Sailor has a voice and an avenue to be heard in the risk mitigation process.
The ultimate risk decision will be made at the proper level – authority to operate equipment not IAW parameters and technical documentation or any other scenario that may place Sailors or equipment at risk is reserved by the Commanding Officer.
