Cmdr. Carleigh R. Gregory

Cmdr. Carleigh Gregory is originally from Herndon, Virginia. She received her commission and Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2008. She holds a graduate degree in Systems Analysis from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a graduate degree in National Security Studies from the Naval War College.
At sea, she served onboard USS DECATUR (DDG 73) as the Electrical Officer and Strike Officer, completing two operational deployments to 5
th and 7
th Fleet AORs. She then transferred to and commissioned USS CORONADO (LCS 4) as Weapons Division Officer, Navigator, and Assistant Operations Officer. As a Department Head she served as Weapons Officer and Combat Systems Officer onboard USS ROSS (DDG 71), completing five combat patrols in the 6
th Fleet AOR, including participation in Operation SYRIA STRIKE in April 2017. She also served as Material Readiness Officer for Destroyer Squadron 22, and as C5I Officer onboard USS BATAAN, deploying to 5
th and 6
th Fleet AORs with BATAAN ARG/26 MEU, including support of Operation PROSPERITY GUARDIAN in the Red Sea.
Ashore, she served as a Seamanship and Navigation Instructor at the U.S. Naval Academy, and as the first Director of the Surface Maintenance Operations Center (S-MOC) and N43 Action Officer at Commander Naval Surface Force Atlantic. As a student at the Naval War College, she served as a U.S. Navy embed with the Naval Command College international student officer program.
Her personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon and various other unit and campaign awards.
Cmdr. Gregory assumed command of Aegis Ashore Missile Defense System Romania in December 2025.
