Senior Chief Ackeola O Stephen, a native of Guyana, South America, enlisted in the United States Navy in June 2006 from Brooklyn, New York. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois she reported to Machinist Mate “A” school.
Upon Machinist Mate “A” school graduation, Senior Chief Stephen reported for duty onboard the USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63), Yokosuka, Japan. Her fleet assignments included USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75), Norfolk, VA, USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), Norfolk, VA, USS Bulkeley (DDG 84), Norfolk, VA and USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69), Norfolk, VA. In addition, Senior Chief Stephen completed her shore assignments at AIMD Sigonella, Italy, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Norfolk, VA and Surface Division TWO ONE, Mayport, FL.
She was selected for the Command Senior Chief Program in March of 2025 and is now serving as the Command Senior Enlisted at U.S. Aegis Ashore Missile Defense System Poland.
Senior Chief Stephen is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy and CMC/COB Course and holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and Human Resource Management. Additionally, she has earned her Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist.
Her decorations include the Combat Action Ribbon, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6 awards), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and various unit and campaign awards.
