Command Senior Chief Jostes a native of Indiana, enlisted in the United States Navy in June 2003. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois, he attended Equipment Operator “A” School before reporting to his first ultimate duty station.
In December 2004, he reported to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion FOUR in Port Hueneme, California where he served on numerous constructions projects as well as convoy security team and Detainee Operations in Iraq. He earned his Seabee Combat Warfare Specialist qualification, completing two CENTCOM deployments and one EURCOM deployment, and was promoted to Petty Officer Second Class.
In April 2008, he reported to Headquarters Joint Force Command, Naples, Italy where he served as the Transportation LPO and received a Joint Achievement Medal for a successful tour.
In March 2011, he reported to the Naval Mobile Construction Battalion FOUR completing 3 deployments throughout the AFRICOM and INDOPACOM AOR. He was promoted to First Class Petty Officer.
In July 2015 he reported to Naval Special Warfare Development Group and was promoted to Chief Petty Officer in Aug 2018. He served as the Leading Chief Petty Officer, under various departments and locations.
In December 2022 he report to Naval Consolidated Brig Charleston, Det Chesapeake, VA. He was promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer and served as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader. He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy Class 277 (Khaki). Graduate of CMC/COB class 25120.
Completing his tour to NAVCONBRIG Chesapeake, he assumed the role as the Command Senior Chief for Aegis Ashore Missile Defense System Romania.
Senior Jostes’s personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendations Medal with “C” device, Joint Service Commendation Medal (3rd award), Navy Commendation Medal (5th award), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy Achievement Medal (5th award), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
