CMDCM (Expeditionary Warfare/Surface Warfare) Jared B. Ogilvie is a native of Houston Texas, and enlisted in the navy in January 2001. Following recruit training he attended Gunner’s Mate “A” School at Naval Training Center Great Lakes Illinois. In June 2002, he was assigned to his first sea tour aboard the USS John Paul Jones (DDG 53), home-ported in San Diego California. From 2002 to 2007 he deployed to the Western Pacific and North Arabian gulf, Including a “Sea Swap” deployment to the USS Higgins (DDG 76). He qualified as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and was advanced to Petty Officer Second Class.
 
In March 2007, he was assigned to Naval Special Warfare Group One / Logistics Support Unit One and Subsequently selected as the SEAL Team Five lead Armorer, based in Coronado California. He completed three deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation enduring Freedom, and Operation New Dawn. He qualified as an Expeditionary Warfare Specialist, and was advanced to First Class Petty Officer.
 
In March 2012, he reported to the Center for Security forces Detachment San Diego where he served as lead Surface Reaction Forces Advanced, and Crew Served Weapons Instructor. During this tour he earned his Master Training Specialist qualification.
He returned to Sea Duty in July 2015 aboard the USS Benfold (DDG 65) where he advanced to Chief Petty Officer before homeport shifting to Yokosuka Japan. After redistribution to the USS Fitzgerald (DDG 62) he completed 2 combat patrols and was cross-decked to the USS Barry (DDG 52) in October 2017, where he served as Weapons Department Leading Chief Petty Officer.
 
In November 2018, he accepted orders to Afloat Training Group Pacific Northwest as the Anti-Terrorism/Vessel Boarding Search and Seizure Leading Chief Petty Officer and was subsequently advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer.
 
He was assigned to the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) in January 2022, home-ported in Norfolk Virginia. He served as the G-2 Leading Chief Petty officer and in October 2023, he deployed to the Red Sea in support of Operation Prosperity Guardian and was selected into the Command Senior Enlisted Leader Program February 2024 and reported to the Naval Consolidated Brig Detachment Chesapeake from 2024 to 2025 where he was advanced to Command Master Chief.
 
CMDCM Ogilvie reported onboard USS TORTUGA (LSD-46) in April 2025. He graduated from the Senior Enlisted academy Class 231 Orange. His awards include the the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (9), the Combat Action Ribbon (2), and various unit commendations, service and campaign awards.
