Command Master Chief, USS FARRAGUT (DDG 99)

Command Master Chief Steinbrenner is a native of West Bend, Wisconsin. He enlisted in the United States Navy in July 2009. Following completion of Basic Training he attended Interior Communications Electrician “A” School in Great Lakes, IL.
In March 2010, he reported to his first command USS ENTERPRISE (CVN 65) where he deployed twice to C5F and then decommissioned the “Big E”. While onboard he earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Air Warfare Specialist qualifications.
In July 2013, he transferred to Navy Recruiting District Chicago to serve as a recruiter and assumed the role of Station Leading Petty Officer. In 2016, he checked onboard USS ROOSEVELT (DDG 80). He led CE Division as the Leading Petty Officer and qualified as Combat Systems Officer of the Watch; he would take over the position of 3-M Coordinator and be selected for Chief Petty Officer prior to homeport shifting to Rota, Spain and completing three C6F patrols.
He served as the 3-M Warfare Lead at Afloat Training Group-Mayport from March 2022 until October of 2023, responsible for training and certifying all ships stationed in both Mayport, FL and Bahrain. There he was selected to Senior Chief and filled the position as Acting Command Master Chief.Master Chief Steinbrenner reported onboard USS MASON (DDG 87) October 2023 for another C5F deployment and served as Department Leading Chief Petty Officer for the Navigation and Executive Department before being selected for the Command Senior Enlisted Leader Program and being assigned to USS Cooperstown (LCS 23), completing a successful PSA and Sea Trials.
Command Master Chief Steinbrenner is a graduate of Senior Enlisted Academy Class 266, CMC/ COB Class 24110, and is a qualified Master Training Specialist and Afloat Training Specialist.
Master Chief Steinbrenner assumed the role of Command Master Chief onboard USS FARRAGUT (DDG 99) in July of 2025. His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, and numerous service and campaign awards.
