Master Chief Andre C. Angel, a native of Whittier, California, enlisted in the United States Navy in November 2000. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois he reported to Naval Training Center where he completed Information Systems Technician A-School.
 
Upon graduation, he reported for duty at Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Europe Central, Naples, Italy; completing a four month assignment to Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station Bahrain, where he prepared communication suites for the 2003 invasion of Iraq and was promoted to Petty Officer Second Class prior to transferring. Additional shore tours included Naval Special Warfare Group THREE, Information Warfare Training Command, and Naval Leadership and Ethics Command. While on temporary duty from Group THREE, he served as a network and radio specialist for SEAL TEAM ONE when deployed to Ramadi, Iraq in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM. In 2016, while serving as an instructor at Information Warfare Training Command, he was selected to the rank of Chief Petty Officer.
 
Master Chief Angel has served on four different ships out of San Diego, CA. His first sea tour was onboard the USS HALSEY (DDG 97), which he was a part of its 2005 commissioning crew known as Plank Owners. His subsequent sea tours included the USS BUNKER HILL (CG 52), USS HIGGINS (DDG 76), and USS MIGUEL KIETH (ESB 5). He was temporarily assigned to the NATO Role III hospital in Kandahar, Afghanistan in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM.
 
He is a graduate of the United States Navy Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat course and the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 223, Gray). He is qualified Surface Warfare Specialist (SW), Expeditionary Warfare Specialist (EXW), and Information Warfare Specialist (IW), he has completed the Primary - Professional Military Education (PME), Senior Enlisted Joint - PME I, Senior Enlisted Joint - PME II.
 
His decorations include a Navy Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards) and numerous unit and campaign awards.
