Command Senior Chief, USS Wichita (LCS 13)

Command Senior Chief Michael W Morgan is a native of Chicago, IL enlisted in the United States Navy in 2006. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois he reported to Naval Base Point Loma, San Diego California where he completed Surface SONAR Technician "A" school. Upon SONAR Technician "A" and "C" school graduation, Command Senior Chief Morgan reported for duty onboard the USS Mahan (DDG 72), Norfolk, VA. Where he served as lead SQR-19 Technician.
His fleet assignments include USS Bainbridge (DDG 96) and USS Paul Ignatius (DDG 117) completing multiple deployments to 5th and 6th fleet AORs as well as multiple NATO exercises and collaborations.
His shore assignments include Commander Undersea Surveillance, Dam Neck, Virginia and Southeast Regional Maintenance Center Mayport, Florida. While at COMUNDSEASURV he served as the N7 Training department Leading Petty officer and qualified IUSS. During his time at SERMC he served as Surface Vessel Torpedo Tube Fleet Technical Assistant and Engineering Department Leading Chief Petty Officer.
Senior Chief Morgan was advanced to Chief Petty officer September 2019 and served as the Repair division and Combat Acoustics division Leading Chief Petty officer. Leading his divisions he completed one final deployment in support of NATO tasking before detaching April 2022.
He was advanced to Senior Chief May 2022 and selected as Command Senior Chief May 2024. He is a graduate of The United States Navy Senior Enlisted Academy and CMC/COB course.
