A native of Meherrin, Virginia, after graduating from Central of Lunenburg High School; he enlisted in the U.S Navy August of 1986. He graduated from basic training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes and Fireman Apprentice School.
Sea duty assignment was USS SEATTLE (AOE-3) and after this successful completion of this enlistment; he separated active duty and affiliated with the U. S. Naval Reserves at Navy Operational Support Center Richmond in Richmond, Virginia. Assignments as a reservist included Cargo Handling Battalion Training Team #10 at Cheatham Annex Naval Station Yorktown, Williamsburg, Virginia.
May 2001, he returned to active duty, reported to Transient Processing Unit Norfolk, Virginia and after completing Storekeeper “A” School in Meridian, Mississippi; reported onboard USS KAUFFMAN (FFG-59). Follow on assignments Afloat Training Group Norfolk, Camp Lemonier Djibouti, Africa, and USS NEW YORK (LPD-21), Plankowner. Served as Supply DLCPO onboard Training Support Center Hampton Roads Dam Neck, USS GONZALEZ (DDG-66) and S8 LCPO onboard USS HARRY S. TRUMAN (CVN-75). Reporting onboard Afloat Training Group Norfolk, served as N41/ S1 Stock Control Lead Assessor, COMNAVSURFLANT/CNSL as N46 DLCPO and N41 Afloat Readiness Assessor and Readiness/ LOGMC aboard USS GERALD R. FORD (CVN-78).
In 2023, selected for the Command Master Chief Program and after graduation of CMC/COB Course; reported to Unmanned Carrier Launched Multi-Role Squadron ONE ZERO (VUQ-10) as the command’s first CMC. Currently serving onboard USS MESA VERDE (LPD19) as CMC.
He is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class #225 (Grey Group); Liberty University with Bachelor’s degree in Religion. He is a certified RBLP-Trainer, certified Postsecondary Instructor, Advance Warrior Toughness Trainer, Master Training Specialist and Afloat Training Specialist.
