Master Chief Megan R. Donnell, a native of Alma, Michigan, enlisted in the Navy in August 2004. Upon completion of basic training, at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, she reported to air traffic control “A" school in Pensacola, Florida.
Master Chief Donnell’s first tour was at Naval Air Station Sigonella,
Italy. She served as Ground Controller and Flight Planning Supervisor, advancing to the rank of Petty Officer Second Class.
In May 2008, Master Chief Donnell report to Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland. She achieved qualification as a Facility Watch Supervisor and served as Leading Petty Officer. She earned her Bachler’s degree in Social Science from Ashford University and advanced to Petty Officer First Class.
In September 2013, Master Chief Donnell reported to USS Nimitz (CVN 68), homeported in Bremerton, Washington, where she was selected to Chief Petty Officer in 2014. She qualified as Carrier Air Traffic Control Center (CATCC) Supervisor and was designated as CATCC Watch Officer. She served as the Leading Chief Petty Officer and CATCC Chief. She was selected to Senior Chief in 2017.
In October 2017, Master Chief Donnell reported to Naval Support Activity Souda Bay, Greece. She served as Operations Department Leading Chief Petty Officer and base housing director.
In November 2018, Master Chief Donnell reported to Naval Air Station Whiting Field, Milton, Florida. She served as the Air Traffic Control Facility Officer and Leading Chief Petty Officer. She was selected to Master Chief in 2021.
In January 2022, Master Chief Donnell reported to Naval Base Ventura County. She served as the Air Operations Department Leading Chief Petty Officer and Air Traffic Control Leading Chief Petty Officer.
In March 2025, Master Chief Donnell reported to Tactical Air Control Squadron TWO ONE and is currently serving as the Senior Enlisted Leader.
She is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 223 Blue), and earned her Master’s Degree in Special Education from Ashford University. Her personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (six awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal (six awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
