A native of Teaneck, NJ, Commander Frank Doré graduated from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in 2007 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics and Intermodal Transportation. He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and Project Management from Empire State College-State University of New York.
Commander Doré’s at-sea assignments include USS COLE (DDG 67) and Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron Six and Two. His department head tours were onboard USS MASON (DDG 87) as Chief Engineer and Combat Systems Officer. Commander Doré also volunteered for a Global War on Terrorism support assignment to Afghanistan in 2012. He previously served as Executive Officer on USS LABOON (DDG 58), a Guided Missile Destroyer stationed in Norfolk, Virginia, and is currently the Commanding Officer.
Ashore, Commander Doré served at Naval Support Activity, Saratoga Springs, Afloat Training Group –Norfolk and on the Joint Staff in Suffolk, VA.
Commander Doré’s personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal “C”, Navy Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon and various unit commendations, campaign medals and service ribbons.
