Commander Christopher Pisciotta, a native of North Bergen, New Jersey, graduated from The College of New Jersey with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Physics. He earned his commission through Officer Candidate School (OCS) and was designated a Surface Warfare Officer.
CDR Pisciotta began his naval career as an enlisted Sailor, serving as an Air Traffic Controller aboard USS ENTERPRISE (CVN 65) starting in April 1998. He went on to complete two shore tours in air traffic control—one in Sigonella, Italy, and the other in Lakehurst, New Jersey.
As a commissioned officer, CDR Pisciotta served his division officer tours as Communications Officer aboard USS CHOSIN (CG 65) and as Damage Control Assistant on USS ASHLAND (LSD 48). His department head assignments included duty as Chief Engineer aboard both USS PREBLE (DDG 88) and USS NEW ORLEANS (LPD 18).
Over the course of his career, CDR Pisciotta has deployed 14 times, supporting missions across all Fleets. His most recent shore assignment was as a Staff Officer to Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe/Africa and U.S. SIXTH Fleet, based in Naples, Italy.
His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
