A native of Georgia, Commander Rajnay, graduated from the Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and was commissioned on 7 May 2010.
As a Division Officer he served on MCM Crew DOMINANT as Communications Officer from June 2010 to January 2013. Completing two deployments to FIFTH Fleet totaling 18 months. He then transferred to USS MCCLUSKY (FFG 41) as Navigator/Admin Department Head from February 2013 to January 2015, and oversaw the administrative and personnel transfer for the ship’s Decommissioning in January of 2015.
As a Department Head he served on USS HIGGINS (DDG 76) as the Operations Officers from Oct 2018 to Dec 2019, deploying with Commander Destroyer Squadron ONE as the staff J3A in support of Pacific Partnership 2019. Following he was assigned to USS SHOUP (DDG 86) as the Combat Systems Officer, overseeing the installation and testing of the Navy’s newest Aegis Weapons System Baseline and homeport shifting the ship to Yokosuka Japan, supporting C7F Operations
Ashore, he was assigned to Commander, Naval Surface Group, Middle Pacific as the N7 Training Officer / Staff Navigator and deployed to Kuwait from June 2015 to April 2016 in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. Post DH he was assigned to Expeditionary Strike Group Three as the Current Operations Officers, overseeing the operations of 3 Amphibious Squadrons, 1 Littoral Combat Ship Squadron, 5 amphibious support units and 33 San Diego based ships conducting operations in support of 3rd Fleet.
Currently assigned as the Executive Officer, US AEGIS Ashore Missile Defense System, Redzikowo, Poland.
Commander Rajnay’s awards and decorations include the Joint Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5th Award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2nd Award), and various unit, campaign, and service medals.
