CDR Josh Womack

CDR Josh Womack is a native of Belle Chasse, Louisiana. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in History. He also earned a Master of Arts in History from Norwich University in 2015.
Afloat, CDR Womack served aboard USS TAYLOR (FFG 50) as Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer, aboard USS VICKSBURG (CG 69) as Training Officer and Combat Information Center Officer, and aboard USS GRAVELY (DDG 107) as Operations Officer and Combat Systems Officer. He also served as the Current Operations Officer (N3) and Future Operations Officer (N5) for Task Force 65 / Destroyer Squadron 60 in Rota, Spain.
Ashore, CDR Womack served as an instructor at Fleet ASW Training Center in San Diego, California, and at Surface Warfare Schools Command in Newport, Rhode Island. He also served as the speechwriter to the Vice Chief of Naval Operations.
CDR Womack’s decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (six awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and multiple unit and service awards including the Battle Efficiency Award (two awards).
CDR Womack assumed the role as Executive Officer of USS THOMAS HUDNER in March 2025.
