Senior Chief Villar, a native of Salcedo, Dominican Republic, joined the Navy from Bronx, NY on. He attended boot camp at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes. He completed basic training in Great Lakes, Illinois in January 2002. After basic training, he reported to USS Sacramento AOE-01 as a deck seaman. After six months he struck for Naval Aircrewmen, and then received orders to report to Naval Air Station Pensacola where he completed Naval Aircrew Candidate School, Aviation Rescue Swimmer School, and Aviation Antisubmarine Warfare Operator “A” School. Upon graduation of “A” School in 2002, he was promoted to Petty Officer Third Class. He transferred to HSL-40 in Mayport, Florida where he completed the SH-60B Fleet Replacement Aircrewman syllabus.
Senior Chief Villar was selected for Command Senior Chief on MAR 2024.
His fleet assignments include HSL-37, HSL/M-40, HSL/M-60, HSM-48, USS Sacramento AOE-01, USS Lake Erie CG 70, USS Chosin CG 65, and USS Elrod FFG 55.
During his assignments, Senior Chief Villar was awarded for his efforts in performing a rescue of a distressed kayaker, performing first aid to a shipmate that fell from a two-story balcony, saving the life of a shipmate, and providing support in Search and Rescue efforts following natural disasters in Haiti, Hawaii and Louisiana.
He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy Class 247 and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Southern Illinois University. Additionally, he has earned his Naval Aircrew Warfare, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, and Master Training Specialist.
His awards include the various unit and campaign awards. One Air Medal-Strike/Flight, Five Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and Seven Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
