Commander Andrew Darjany is from Marcy, New York. A 2007 graduate of the Reserve Officer Training Corps program from Rochester Institute of Technology, Cmdr. Darjany earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. Darjany hold a master's degree in National Security and Strategic Studies form the Naval War College where he was the Senior Class Honor Graduate.
Darjany’s shipboard assignments include Mine Counter Measures (MCM) Crew Conflict as Electrical/Auxiliaries Officer and First Lieutenant; USS SAMPSON (DDG 102) as Training Officer; USS ROOSEVELT (DDG 80) as Plans and Tactics Officer; and USS WARRIOR (MCM 10) as Executive and Commanding Officer.
Ashore, he served as Instructor of Naval Science at the United States Naval Academy, and Prospective Commanding Officer Course Coordinator at Surface Warfare Officers School. Most recently, he served as the Executive Officer on board USS FORREST SHERMAN (DDG 98).
Darjany currently serves as the Commanding Officer of USS FORREST SHERMAN (DDG 98).
Personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
