Raised in Brandon, Florida, Captain Price received his commission from the United States Naval Academy in 2001. He was designated a Naval Aviator in January 2004 and was selected for follow-on training in the FA-18 Super Hornet. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering, a Masters of Arts from Norwich University, and is a graduate of the Navy’s Nuclear Power Program.
CAPT Price’s operational tours include as a junior officer in the “Kestrels” of VFA-137 based in Lemoore, California with deployments embarked aboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72); a global war on terror support assignment as an intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operator in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM in Afghanistan; as a department head in the “Diamondbacks” of VFA-102 based in Atsugi, Japan with deployments aboard USS George Washington (CVN 73); and as Executive Officer and Commanding Officer of the “Black Knights” of VFA-154 in Lemoore, California embarked aboard USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71). Most recently he served as the Executive Officer of USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69).
His shore tours include two stints in Fallon, Nevada with the STRIKE department at Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center (NSAWC) and later, Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center (NAWDC).
He assumed command of USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20) in January 2025.
