A 2006 graduate of the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps program from Maine Maritime Academy, Commander Patrick Earls earned a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business and Logistics. He is originally from Erie, Pennsylvania.
A career Surface Warfare Officer, Commander Earls’ shipboard assignments include:
USS BARRY (DDG 52) as Anti-submarine Warfare Officer,
USS FITZGERALD (DDG 62) as Damage Control Assistant,
USS MICHAEL MURPHY (DDG 112) as Chief Engineer, and
USS JOHN FINN (DDG 113) as Combat Systems Officer and Plank-owner. Ashore, Commander Earls attended the Naval Post Graduate School where he received a Master of Science degree in Oceanography while enrolled in the Undersea Warfare Program. He was an Officer Training Instructor at the AEGIS Training and Readiness Center Dahlgren, Virginia. He served as Flag Secretary, Assistant Chief of Staff, and Staff Director at Commander, Carrier Strike Group TWO. He attended the Senior Officer War College Program at the Eisenhower School (Industrial War College) where he received a Master of Science degree in National Security and Strategic Resource Strategy. He most recently served as Executive Officer and Plank-owner, USS COOPERSTOWN (LCS 23).
