A surface warfare officer, Cmdr. Kissinger is a native of Los Alamos, New Mexico and was commissioned through Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida. She holds a bachelor’s of science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Central Florida and a master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering Management from Old Dominion University.
At sea, Cmdr. Kissinger served as ordnance officer aboard USS McInerny (FFG 8), reactors control officer aboard USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74), operations officer aboard USS Roosevelt (DDG 80), main propulsion assistant aboard USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) and executive officer aboard USS Philippine Sea (CG 58).
Ashore, Cmdr. Kissinger served as the Readiness Control Officer instructor for the Littoral Training Facility Mayport, Florida followed by the Deputy Officer in Charge for the Mobile Training Team COMNAVSURPAC San Diego, CA.
She has served on teams that have been recognized with numerous awards and is the recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and various unit, campaign, and service awards.
