Commander Christian Seymour is originally from Southbury, CT. He graduated from Radford University, Radford, VA in 2006 earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. He also holds a Masters in Operations Research earned in 2014 from the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, CA.
Prior to his commissioning at Officer Candidate School, Newport, RI in 2008, Commander Seymour was an infantryman in the United States Marine Corps assigned to 2
nd Battalion, 6
th Marines from 2000-2004 and completed three operational deployments.
Commander Seymour’s first sea tour, from 2008 to 2010, was as Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer in USS SAMUEL B. ROBERTS (FFG 58). His next assignment was as Auxiliaries Officer in USS MONTEREY (CG 61) from 2010 to 2012. His 1
st Department Head Tour was as Operations Officer from 2016 to 2017 on USS ROSS (DDG 71). His most recent sea assignment from 2019-2021 was as Commanding Officer of Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron TWO, Alpha Company (MK VI).
Ashore, from 2014 to 2016, Commander Seymour was assigned to Surface Warfare Officer School in Newport, RI as a Prospective Engineering Officer Course Instructor. From 2017 to 2019, he served as the Staff Director/N1 at Destroyer Squadron TWENTY-TWO. Most recently ashore from 2021-2023, he was assigned as Officer-in-Charge of Atlantic Sealift Operations Support Element, a Tier 1, Chief of Naval Operations Priority ONE Command.
Commander Seymour’s decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy Achievement Medal (three awards), Department of State Meritorious Honor Award and various campaign and unit awards. He is also a 2014 recipient of the Military Operations Research Society Award for most outstanding thesis.
