Commander Briana Wildemann predominately grew up in Middletown, Rhode Island, as the daughter of a Naval Officer. She graduated from Villanova University with a degree in Political Science in May 2009, and was commissioned an Ensign in the US Navy from the Villanova NROTC Unit as a Surface Warfare Officer.
At sea, CDR Wildemann served as the N3 Operations Officer for the USS IWO JIMA (LHD 7) Amphibious Ready Group, Weapons Officer and Combat Systems Officer onboard USS ZUMWALT (DDG 1000), Fire Control Officer onboard USS COLE (DDG 67), and the Communications Officer and Electrical Officer onboard USS GUNSTON HALL (LSD 44).
Ashore, as an Amphibious Warfare Tactics Instructor (WTI), she served at Surface Mine Warfare Development Center, Fleet Training Atlantic (SMWDC FT-L) as a Surface Warfare Advanced Tactical Training (SWATT) Main Planner. As a junior Lieutenant, she was the Lead Maritime Warfare Instructor at Basic Division Officer Course (BDOC) San Diego, also instructing in Ship Handling and Division Officer Leadership.
CDR Wildemann received her Master’s Degrees in Global Policy and Strategy from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), and in Defense and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College.
