Master Chief Jamie Hamilton graduated high school in Georgia and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in April 1993. He enlisted as a Seaman Recruit and completed Recruit and Seaman Apprenticeship Training in Orlando, Florida.
His sea duty assignments include USS WARRIOR (MCM 10); USS CHAMPION (MCM 4); USS HALYBURTON (FFG 40); USS GETTYSBURG (CG 64); USS OAK HILL (LSD 51); and USS IWO JIMA (LHD 7). He has deployed numerous times to the FOURTHFLT, FIFTHFLT, and SIXTHFLT Areas of Responsibility to support counter-piracy, maritime security, and national security interests in Europe and Africa operations.
He has also served ashore at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, Texas; Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida; Naval Beach Group TWO in Little Creek, Virginia; and Commander, Naval Surface Group Southeast, where he oversaw the mission readiness and training of the entire Mayport fleet.
He is a graduate of the Air Force Senior Non-Commissioned Officer Academy (Class 11-A), the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course (Class 130), the National Defense University Keystone Course, the Command Senior Enlisted Leader Executive Leadership Symposium Course, and the Advanced Command Master Chief Course.
Master Chief Hamilton is currently assigned to Commander, Naval Surface Group Middle Atlantic. His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (four awards), Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal (eight awards), Good Conduct Medal (ten awards), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and various unit and campaign awards.
