Master Chief Paul Dammon enlisted in the United States Navy in April 1999.  Upon completion of basic training in Great Lakes, Illinois, he attended Surface Sonar Technician “A” School in San Diego, California, and then continued on with several “C” schools before his first fleet assignment.  He served as a Surface Sonar Technician from 1999 to 2017 and was selected for the Command Senior Enlisted Leader program in 2017.

His early tours of duty include: USS NICHOLAS (FFG 47), where he served as Passive Sonar Systems Technician and Work Center Supervisor; Commander Undersea Surveillance, where he served as Current Operations Leading Petty Officer;  PCU/USS JASON DUNHAM (DDG 109), where he served as CA Division Leading Chief Petty Officer; USS INGRAHAM  (FFG 61), where he served as Combat Systems Department Leading Chief Petty Officer; Commander Undersea Surveillance, where he served as Future Systems and Requirements Department Leading Chief Petty Officer. 

His previous Command Master Chief tours include: Beachmaster Unit TWO, USS LEYTE GULF (CG 55) and Naval Leadership and Ethics Command Dam Neck.  In June 2023, he assumed the duties as the Command Master Chief for Amphibious Squadron FOUR. 

During his sea tours he completed multiple deployments to the 5th and 6th Fleet AORs, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and other national tasking, as well as to the 4th Fleet AOR in support of Operation Martillo Counter Transnational Organized Crime operations and multiple UNITAS multi-national exercises. 

Master Chief Dammon’s education includes a Bachelor’s degree in Management, the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 200/Red), and the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course (Class 180).

His military awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (2 awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4 awards), and various unit and service medals and ribbons. He has also earned the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and Integrated Undersea Surveillance Specialist insignias.
