Cmdr. Trey Dittberner

CDR Trey Dittberner is a native of White Deer, TX. He graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering Technologies in 2006 from Texas A&M University.
Upon his commission, he served his first and second Division Officer tours aboard the USS NORMANDY (CG 60) from 2006 to 2010. While onboard he served as the Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer, First Lieutenant, and as a Fleet-Up became the Navigator in 2008. He deployed twice while onboard the NORMANDY, and was a part of the Navy’s Operation Unified Response to Haiti in 2010.
Ashore, CDR Dittberner attended the Naval Post Graduate School in 2010. He graduated with a Master’s of Science in Operations Research in 2012. Upon completion he was assigned to the Surface Warfare Officer’s School, N72 Directorate in Newport, RI. He taught the Surface Navigators Course from 2012 until 2014 when he started Department Head School.
CDR Dittberner returned to sea for his first department head tour aboard USS MCFAUL (DDG 74) as the Chief Engineer. While onboard, MCFAUL deployed to the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Fleet Areas of Operation in 2015. He reported to USS SAN JACINTO as Chief Engineer in April of 2016. He is currently serving as the Executive Officer onboard USS GUNSTON HALL (LSD-44).
CDR Dittberner’s personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy Achievement Medal, and various unit awards.
