Capt. Corry W. Lougee

Captain Lougee is a native of Tucson, Arizona and enlisted in the Navy in 1996 as a Gas Turbine Systems Technician-Electrical earning the rank of a First Class Petty Officer. He commissioned through the Seaman-to-Admiral-21 program earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies from the University of Arizona. Captain Lougee also earned three Master of Arts degrees, one in Professional Studies in Leadership, Education, and Development from the University of Maryland and two in National Security and Strategic Affairs from the Naval War College.
A career surface warfare officer, Captain Lougee’s shipboard assignments include: USS Elliot (DD 967) as GSE Shop and Main Engine Room Leading Petty Officer; USS Port Royal (CG 73) as Electronics Material Officer, Strike Officer, and Fire Control Officer; Operations Officer onboard USS Howard (DDG 83) and USS Chancellorsville (CG 62); and Commanding Officer and Executive Officer of USS Paul Ignatius (DDG 117).
Ashore, Captain Lougee served as 23
rd Company Officer at the United States Naval Academy for Class of 2011 and 2012. He also served as a Placement Officer and First Tour Department Head Detailer during a three-year tour at Navy Personnel Command (PERS 41).
His personal decorations include the 2016 Navy and Marine Corps Association Leadership Award, 2015 Carrier Strike Group 5 and 2013 Commander Destroyer Squadron 23 Junior Officer Tactician of the Year, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6), Good Conduct Medal (2) and various unit and campaign awards to include the Battle Effectiveness Award (5).
