 CDR Graig Diefenderfer is a native of Bear, Delaware.  He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and subsequently graduated from the Naval Postgraduate School in 2006 with a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
 
At sea, his shipboard assignments include: USS O’Kane (DDG 77) as Communications Officer, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) as Number One Plant’s Reactor Propulsion Division Officer, USS Taylor (FFG 50) as Operations Officer, and USS Harry S Truman (CVN 75) as Reactor Electrical Assistant.
 
Ashore, he served as Assistant Nuclear Programs Coordinator at Naval Service Training Command, and most recently as Flag Secretary to the Commander and Executive Assistant to the Deputy Commander for Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO.
 
His personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy Achievement Medal (two awards), and various unit, campaign, and service awards.
