Command Master Chief Carla C. Bellamy is a native of Chesterfield, SC, she enlisted in the United States Navy on June 13, 2001. Upon completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, IL, she reported to Hospital Corps “A” School in Great Lakes, IL, and follow on training at Field Medical Service School in Camp Pendleton, CA and Surgical Technologist “C” school in San Diego, CA.
Her first assignment was 2d FSSG, 2D MLG Camp Lejeune, NC where she served as a Hospital Corpsman, and deployed in 2004 to Kuwait as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Her follow on assignments included: Naval Hospital Charleston, Naval Hospital Yokosuka Japan, Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, USS Harry S Truman (CVN 75), and NMRTC Camp Lejeune, NC.
She was selected for the Command Program in 2023 and reported as the Senior Enlisted Leader for USS Detroit (LCS 7) and PCU Cleveland (LCS 31).
Command Master Bellamy is a graduate of Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 234-Purple), and CMC/COB (Class 23080). She holds an Associated Degree in Social Sciences and currently working on her Bachelor’s in Public Health. Her personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5 Awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2 Awards) and a host of other decorations. She is currently serving as the Command Master Chief for USS The Sullivans (DDG 68) in Mayport, Florida.
