Captain Aaron Anderson, U.S. Navy Captain Anderson is a native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and a Graduate of Iowa State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1996 and commissioned as an Ensign in October 1999 through Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida. At sea, Captain Anderson has served as CG Division Officer on USS TARAWA (LHA 1), Training Officer on USS ODGEN (LPD 5), Operations Officer on USS RODNEY M. DAVIS (FFG 60), and First Lieutenant on USS BONHOMME RICHARD (LHD 6). He has served as Executive Officer and Commanding Officer for LCS Crew 104 and 108 onboard USS MILWAUKEE (LCS 5) and subsequently commanded the LCS Training Ship, USS MANCHESTER (LCS 14). Ashore, Captain Anderson served as a Joint Training Officer at US Strategic Command in Omaha, Nebraska, attended the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, served as Current Operations Deputy/ Fleet Scheduler at U.S. THIRD FLEET and Current Operations at Commander Naval Surface Forces Pacific. Prior to his arrival he served as the Mine Warfare Battlestaff Director at Naval Surface and Mine Warfare Development Center Detachment Point Loma. Captain Anderson reported to Commander Naval Surface Group Southeast in August 2022 where he serves as Commodore. Captain Anderson’s decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (4 awards), Joint Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (4 awards) as well as various unit citations and campaign awards.
