Master Chief Petty Officer Chad Coutcher is a native of Maumee, Oh. He received his high school diploma from Maumee High School (Ohio), enlisted in the US Navy in March of 2003 and attended basic training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois. He graduated from Operations Specialist “A” school in Norfolk, Virginia in July of 2003.
His sea duties include USS Jarrett (FFG 33) San Diego, CA, USS Philippine Sea (CG 58) Mayport, FL, USS Zumwalt (DDG 1000) Bath, ME/San Diego, CA, USS Shoup (DDG 86) San Diego, CA/Yokosuka, JPN and USS Omaha (LCS 12) Blue Crew San Diego, CA. His shore duties include Navy Recruiting District Ohio, Navy Operational Support Center, Toledo, Ohio and Afloat Training Group San Diego.
He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy, class 243 (Purple) and CMC/COB course 23080. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Leadership and Management and graduate’s Degree in Sports, Recreation and Leisure Management from the University of Toledo.
He is currently serving onboard USS Nitze (DDG 94), homeport Norfolk, VA as the Command Master Chief.
Master Chief Coutcher has been awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (8), Military Outstanding Voluntary Service Medal and several other unit level awards.
