Commander Lind is a Distinguished Naval Graduate of Texas A&M University’s Naval ROTC program with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and a minor in Business Administration. He is a distinguished graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School, earning a Master of Business Administration degree in Financial Management and additionally completing the Naval War College’s Command and Staff Program with distinction. He is also a superior graduate of the U.S. Army War College, where he earned a Master’s degree in Strategic Studies.
Afloat, Commander Lind completed division officer tours aboard USS FORREST SHERMAN (DDG 98) as Strike Officer and USS HOPPER (DDG 70) as Damage Control Assistant. He completed department head tours aboard USS WINSTON S. CHURCHILL (DDG 81) and USS MONTEREY (CG 61) as Engineering Officer. He previously served as Executive Officer onboard USS CARNEY (DDG 64).
Ashore assignments include duty as Operations Officer for the Navy Ceremonial Guard in Washington D.C., where he participated in the 57th Presidential Inauguration. He also completed a tour on the staff of Commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command as the Tomahawk Certification Team lead in the N7 directorate.
Commander Lind’s awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards), the Combat Action Ribbon as well as multiple unit and service awards.
