Commander Bethany R. Burdick, a native of central Pennsylvania, is a 2006 graduate of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Commander Burdick earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. She also earned a Master's degree in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University in 2013.
A career nuclear surface warfare officer, Commander Burdick's shipboard assignments include USS LASSEN (DDG 82) as Communications Officer and Fire Control Division Officer, USS ENTERPRISE (CVN 65) as Auxiliaries Division Officer, USS FITZGERALD (DDG 62) as Operations Officer, and USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72) as Main Propulsion Assistant. Ashore, she served as Shift Engineer at Naval Nuclear Power Training Unit Charleston in Goose Creek, South Carolina. She completed her Integrated Air and Missile Defense Warfare Tactics Instructor production tour as the Training and Exercises Lead for Commander, Task Force SIX FOUR in Naples, Italy. Most recently, she completed her tour on board USS MITSCHER (DDG 57) as Executive Officer.
Her personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, and various unit, campaign, and service awards.
