Command Master Chief Bolton is a native of Houston, Texas and reported to basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, in August 2000. After graduating from basic training, he attended Information Systems Technicians (IT) “A” School and began his career.
His sea assignments included Commissioning the USS IWO JIMA (LHD 7), USS NASSAU (LHA 4) deployment in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, USS FORT MCHENRY (LSD 43) humanitarian deployment in support of African Partnership Station, USS BULKELEY (DDG 84) deployment with the USS ENTERPRISE Carrier Strike Group in support of maritime security operations in the U.S. 5
th and 6
th fleet areas of responsibility, and USS PORT ROYAL (CG 73) independent deployment to the U.S. 5
th and 7
th fleet areas of responsibility.
Assignments to shore have included, Naval Communication Telecommunication Station Hampton Roads, Naval Information Warfare Training Group, Norfolk, Hopper Information Services Center, Far East detachment Yokosuka, Japan, and Defense Information Systems Agency Regional Field Command Pacific.
Command Master Chief Bolton is a graduate of the United States Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 223/Red), CMC/COB School (Class 22100). He served as CMDCS at PCU BELOIT, USS ST. LOUIS Gold Crew 120 and currently serves as the Command Master Chief for USS ST. LOUIS (LCS 19). His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), and numerous unit awards.
