A Middletown, New Jersey native, Robert Molinaro is a 2007 graduate of the United States Naval Academy, earning a Bachelor of Science in Ocean Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from the Naval Post Graduate School Executive MBA program.
At sea Commander Molinaro has served as Communications Officer, Auxiliaries Officer, and Anti-Submarine Weapons Officer in USS ELROD (FFG 55), Navigator in USS NITZE (DDG 94), Operations Officer and Combat Systems Officer in USS LABOON (DDG 58), and Operations Officer in USS LEYTE GULF (CG 55). For his most recent sea duty he served as Executive Officer in USS RAMAGE (DDG 61). During his sea tours he deployed five times to 4
th, 5
th, and 6
th Fleet Areas of Responsibility respectively.
Ashore, Commander Molinaro served as Seamanship and Navigation Instructor at the United States Naval Academy where he earned his Small Boat Craftmaster and as Resource and Requirements Officer for the Director of Special Programs Division, Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV N9SP).
For his most recent shore duty, he was a Resource and Requirements Officer for the Director of Surface Warfare, Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV N96). During his OPNAV tours he earned his 6511Q subspecialty in Requirements Management and Level C Resource and Requirements Management Certification.
His decorations include various personal, unit-level, and campaign awards including the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (4), and the Navy Achievement Medal (2). He is the recipient of the Arleigh Burke Award for Inspirational Leadership.
