 Commander Kris Yost is a native of Ravenna, Ohio, and graduate of The University of Akron.  He has also earned a Master of Arts in Security Studies (Far East, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific) from the Naval Postgraduate School and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame.     
 
His sea tours included Division Officer tours on USS RAMAGE (DDG 61) and USS SHILOH (CG 67).  His Department Head tours included USS PATRIOT (MCM 7) and USS LEYTE GULF (CG 55) where he was a SURFLANT Surface Warfare Officer of the Year finalist.
 
His shore tours were at the Naval Postgraduate School where he served as the Student Body President and President of the Surface Warfare Officer’s Association, Monterey, CA chapter, Assistant Professor of Naval Science at NROTC Notre Dame in South Bend, IN, Director of the White House and Congressional Liaison office for the Secretary of the Navy.  Lastly, he was Flag Aide to the Commander, U.S. 6th Fleet and Striking and Support Forces NATO, and on the CNO staff as OPNAV N3N5.  Commander Yost reported to USS RAMAGE in March of 2024.
