Senior Chief Petty Officer Edwards was born September 11, 1988 in Camden, Delaware. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on 28 July 2009 and successfully completed boot camp at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois.
After completing CTR “A” school, Senior Chief Petty Officer Edwards received orders to NIOC Maryland with Manual Morse Code Intercept Operator “C” school en route. Senior Chief Petty Officer Edwards subsequently completed nine deployments to the 6th and 7th fleet AORs aboard multiple Submarines as a Manual Morse and Special Signals Operator. While at NIOC Maryland, he completed Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist qualification, as well as qualifying Submarine Specialist on board the USS Olympia.
In 2014, he arrived at NIOC Pensacola, where he qualified and served as the Senior Reporter for a National mission. During this time, he also qualified as an Adjunct Faculty Instructor, and was Meritoriously advanced to First Class in July 2017.
In December 2017, Senior Chief Edwards reported to Commander of U.S. Naval Forces Central Command and served as the N2 Cryptologic Services Group LPO. Following his tour, he attended Navy Instructor School in Pensacola, Florida in February 2020 where he obtained the 805A NEC prior to arriving at IWTCM Det GAFB in March where he served as Department Leading Chief Petty Officer and Navy Analysis and Reporting Course Manager. He earned his Master Training Specialist qualification in September 2020 and completed his Associates Degree in December 2020 through University of Maryland and is currently working towards his Baccalaureate’s in Education.
Senior Chief Edwards reported to USS TRUXTUN in July of 2023 and currently serves as the Senior Enlisted Leader.
Senior Chief Edwards is married to his wife, Courtney, and together they have three boys.
His military decorations include: Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4), Outstanding Military Volunteer Service Medal, Navy Good Conduct Medal (4), and various unit and campaign medals.
