Andrew Timpner is a native of Rochester Hills, MI and a 2007 graduate of the Virginia Military Institute. 

Reporting to his first ship, USS MOMSEN (DDG 92) in Everett, WA as the Anti-Terrorism Officer, CDR Timpner also served as a member of the ship’s Tomahawk Strike Team and deployed in 2008 to the INDOPACOM and CENTCOM AORs. His second division officer tour was as the Training Officer onboard USS MONTEREY (CG 61) in Norfolk, VA, during which the ship was the first to deploy to the EUCOM AOR as part of the Ballistic Missile Defense Phased Adaptive Approach. He completed two department head tours aboard the USS ARLEIGH BURKE (DDG 51), also in Norfolk, as Weapons Officer and Combat Systems Officer, seeing the ship through her Baseline 9C upgrade and subsequent Dynamic Force Employment deployment to the CENTCOM and EUCOM AORs in 2018. 

Ashore, he was assigned as an instructor at the Aegis Training and Readiness Center (ATRC) in Dahlgren, VA. While at ATRC, CDR Timpner completed the Pilot Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Warfare Tactics Instructor (WTI) Course as well as a Masters of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies through the US Naval War College’s Fleet Seminar Program. Following his department head tours, he was assigned as an IAMD WTI at the Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center Amphibious Warfare Division in Little Creek, VA. He completed a Joint assignment with US Special Operations Command (SOCOM) J10 in Fort Belvoir, VA. While serving with SOCOM, CDR Timpner completed a Certificate in Legislative Affairs through the Government Affairs Institute at Georgetown University. 

CDR Timpner currently serves as the Executive Officer in USS FARRAGUT (DDG 99). His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, three Navy Commendation Medals, three Navy Achievement Medals, and various unit and campaign awards. 

Andrew is married to a Navy Nurse, Matthew Fitzgerald, and the two live in Fleming Island, FL. Andrew has two daughters, Gwendolyn and Daniella.
