Cmdr. Tony Grusich

CDR Tony Grusich is a native of Evanston, Illinois and a graduate of Georgetown University. He commissioned at Officer Candidate School in 2008.
His sea tours include Strike and Gunnery Officer in USS JOHN S. MCCAIN (DDG 56), Assistant Officer-in-Charge and Force Protection Officer at Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron SIX, Operations Officer in USS MICHAEL MURPHY (DDG 112), Operations Officer in USS PHILIPPINE SEA (CG 58) and Warfare Plans and Tactics Officer (N5) at Destroyer Squadron ONE (CDS 1). While at CDS-1, he graduated from the Anti-Submarine/Anti-Surface Warfare Tactics Instructor program.
CDR Grusich recently completed a tour with Allied Maritime Command, serving in the NATO Shipping Centre as the Allied Worldwide Navigational Information System (AWNIS) Staff Officer. His previous shore assignments include tours as flag aide to Commander, Navy Region Midwest and Ship’s Officer at Recruit Training Command. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Naval Postgraduate School and graduated with distinction from U.S. Naval War College Joint Professional Military Education Phase I.
His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various unit and campaign awards.
